Designing and Implementing a Wireless Carrier Topology in a Lab Environment

  • This document proposes a wireless carrier lab environment to provide a testbed for students within the course. This project would allow students interested in the field of mobile device exploitation to explore vulnerabilities and technologies that relate to mobile wireless communications. Such vulnerabilities include exploiting SIM card authentication, exploring breaking GSM encryption, man-in-the-middle attacks, as well as other attacks and exploits. This design allows for an “air gapped” environment for students and professors to test technologies on a network without infringing on corporate carrier networks.
